JOCELINE
WICKHAM

I studied at the Royal Academy Schools in the 1970s and have kept painting fairly consistently since then. I live and work in Norwich

I concentrate on fairly small Still Life paintings and use oil paint on wood panels.

I am interested in looking closely at and paying attention to the ordinary things that I see around me, often things that I may already be very familiar with. Sometimes these may have particular meaning or significance, sometimes I just like the look of them. I hope that my paintings are more than a realistic portrayal of their subject matter.

I am a member of and regular exhibitor with the Norwich 20 Group; www.norwich20group.co.uk

I am interested in doing commissions particularly if these incorporate objects that have particular meaning or significance to the commissioner.

Over the years I have exhibited my work widely both in London galleries, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and many galleries in East Anglia.

In 2015 I had a two women show with Polly Cruse at the Fairhurst Gallery in Norwich and a one woman show at Gallery Last Zurich.

In 2018 I had work “in 20 into18” at the Theatre Royal Norwich, “Inheritance” at the Castle Museum Norwich, Norfolk by Design at Houghton Hall, the Royal Academy East Anglian Group at the Halesworth Gallery and The Society of Women Artists at the Mall Galleries London.

In 2019 I have exhibited with the Geedon Gallery in Essex in their Spring and Autumn shows and as part of the Norwich 20 Group in the Hostry, Norwich Cathedral and St Margaret’s Church Norwich.
